We provide services in your primary language and in culturally appropriate ways.

The Limited English Proficiency Pathway (LEP) program helps refugees (5 years or less in the US) and parents receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (welfare) benefits to become employed.  Services include, but are not limited to:

- Job Preparation – workshops on how to look for a job, resume writing, interviewing skills, employer expectation, and Internet search for work.

- Skills Training – training to gain or improve work skills in a specific industry.

- Community Service Activities – unpaid work with a nonprofit organization that benefits the community.

- Work Experience Activities – unpaid opportunities to practice work skills and gain work experience onsite with a nonprofit organization.

- Job Placement – Assistance in finding employment and providing post-employment job retention services.

- Transportation Support Services - provides assistance to help non-TANF refugee participants address transportation needs to participate in LEP Pathway activities. TANF recipients receive support services through their local DSHS Offices.

 

 

ORIA PRIME - Social Services

Only for refugees less than 5 years in the US providing social service case management and self-sufficiency workshops.  Assist with housing, utilities, childcare, health insurance, and legal issues.

Refugees with Special Employment Needs program based on the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement awards the Targeted Assistance Discretionary Grant to fund services to refugees that lead to self-sufficiency.  Emphasis for RSEN includes intensive case management and social adjustment services. Offer intensive work readiness training, job placement, and job retention services.  Program offers support services to participants to help with transportation, tools, work clothing, as well as other retention services to ensure their transition to employment goes smoothly.

The Puget Sound Welcome Back Center will provide counseling and educational services to help prepare you to practice your healthcare profession in Washington State.

The Puget Sound Welcome Back Center builds bridges between the pool of internationally trained professionals living in Washington and the need for linguistically and culturally competent professional services. Its goal is to assist these professionals to make the best use of their professional skills through respectful, innovative, and individualized career counseling and educational services.  Our program assists with job placement for eligible candidates.
